Career Center

A growing community. A world of opportunity.

The life sciences sector employs thousands of our citizens with high-wage, high-education jobs and stimulates more than $10.5 billion in state economic activity. One of WBBA’s top priorities is to help recruit, retain and train the talent needed to grow life sciences in Washington. We are driving to connect an innovative workforce to our emerging and dynamic organizations committed to better health solutions.

In 2006, the biopharmaceutical sector in Washington state employed approximately 67,000 people, of which about 23,000 worked in medical devices segment, more than 2,500 in global health roles and thousands more at our research institutions. On average, wages for the life science employees is more than $80,000 per year, accounting for $1.6 billion in state wages.

Nearly 9,000 job searches were performed at the WBBA online Career Center between January 1 and September 30, 2011. Those searches led to more than 136,500 views of individual job openings and job seekers were able to apply for more than 508 unique life sciences jobs.

Positions listed in the Featured Jobs section were viewed more than 7,000 times by potential candidates and 149 job seekers used the "Tell a Friend" feature.
