Life Sciences Discovery Fund Reports on Early Returns

The Life Sciences Discovery Fund issued a report in January titled "Early Returns on Washington’s Investment in a Healthy Future."   The report states "The first award dollars have been in researchers’hands for only two years (with a total of $8 million paid out), but even at this early stage, LSDF’s impactis already clear…
• At least $68 million in additional funding committed or received from federal, corporate and private sources
• More than $50 million in health-care savings so far
• Over 25 collaborations with Washington companies
• At least 319 direct and 663 indirect jobs over three years
• Talented researchers recruited to Washington from Harvard Medical School and other leading institutions"
